Thank you to everyone involved in putting on today’s race event! ASC really puts on great events. It wouldn’t be a normal race season for me if I didn't start my race discomforts at Auburn ski club. A special thanks to Roger Chaney for being almost everyone’s pre-race wax tech/base prep man! It was really exciting to start racing finally. I was worried I'd be the only guy there just starting his race season, but I was happy to meet two other people who were also just starting their race season!
Last night’s 2 inches of new snow made it feel like a powder day. It was just enough to bring back the feel of winter. The trees were lightly covered with the white stuff and there was none of the brown snow we've all become so accustomed to this season. There were lots of juniors on hand and man have they gotten faster. You can see from the race results and fine technique on the course that the coaches and racers have really been working hard. Good luck them all! Next stop JO's.
The next event is a biathlon at Auburn ski club. It is open to all abilities so come out and give it a try! After that is The Great Ski Race. It will happen!
Editor’s Note: Danny finished 13th in a really tight pack, only 2:55 behind Elias Bucher… http://farwestnordic.org/raceresults/results20112012/asc_presidentscup12.html
